Robbie scheduled Parent Teacher Conferences for me today. He scheduled one at 3:30 and one at 5:45. I have had a busy week already and even missed Jonah's Parent Teacher Conference on Tuesday. I could have sworn it was scheduled for Wednesday and I scheduled an electrician to come out and fix the boys' bathroom light at the same time.
Today, my friend Leslie helped me. I told her everything that had to be done, three football practices at the same time at different locations and two conferences, one after school and one during practice. She picked up Jonah and William from school and took them to her house. She then took them to her boys' MMA practice and gave them each a DS to play with. I had already been by her house to drop off all of their football equipment, pads, helmets, change of clothes, cleats, etc.
I picked up Robbie and went into the Cafeteria to meet with Robbie's teachers. The way they conduct conferences in Middle School is very different. They line the teachers up at one of the tables and you move down the line meeting with each one. A parent that was waiting beside me called it Speed Dating. There is no privacy, no time limit and not very effective.
As the conferences wore on, so did the emails canceling practices. It was supposed to storm really bad and it was already cold. I couldn't believe it. I was so grateful to be able to just go home and not run to football.
Thanks Leslie!
