Tuesday (4/26) Tornadoes

These are not my pictures, but they are pictures of the damage from the tornado in Little Rock.  We were not even hit the hardest.  The town of Vilonia has been leveled.

To make you smile - here is Silvester acting as if we never feed him:

Eating right out of the container!

Monday (4/25) Seeking Shelter

We all went into hiding because it seemed like the tornado was really close this time.

Silvester was not happy to be in the closet with us.

Sun (4/24) Easter

The boys still enjoy hunting for Easter eggs.  I am sure the Easter Bunny enjoyed new and exciting hiding places for all of the eggs!

Jonah has a weird face and William always smiles like this

this is not our best family picture, oh my...

Saturday 4/23 Dying Eggs

Grandparents are in town and Jonah had a baseball game.  After dinner we tried tye dying Easter eggs.

First comes the egg...

then the creative juices start flowing...

Friday 4/22 Here Lizard Lizard!

Grandparents are in town and my brother and his family came over for dinner.  We had other visitors too:

So now we have had a wasp's nest in the mail box, a bird's nest in the door hanger, a snake in the pond and now...lizards.  So much for not living in the country!

Thursday (4/21) SUV

Read this in your best Bob Barker voice -

A NEW CAR!!

Wednesday 4/20

Robbie and Jonah were out of school because there was no power.  They went with me to CBS.  Then we went to Larry's Pizza with friends from church.  They really enjoyed their day off.

Tuesday 4/19 Stuck in a Tornado

We had three baseball games going at the same time.  That's right all three boys played at the exact same time.  Crazy?  Well the story gets better -

After the game we head to Backyard Burger in Bryant aka Tornado Alley(incidentally, kids eat free EVERY night from 4-close) for dinner.  When what to my wondering ears do I hear? A bitter storm and a tornado near!  So we were stuck until the storm passed.

I felt so bad for the crew having to work through the tornado.  The owners gave the boys milkshakes to help pass the time.  Unfortunately, we were not good guests.  We spilled lemonade three times!!  I spilled it once all over Robbie.  His legs were soaked!  Robbie went to get a refill to replace the drink I spilled on him and he and the guy who gave him the refill, spilled the same drink again in the exchange.
It was amazing, really, what are the odds of spilling the same drink three times?

Saturday (4/16) Practice

Jonah had a game and William had practice.  I helped with William's practice.  I am not sure Victor would tell you I helped with William's practice!

Thursday (4/14)

One practice and two games.

Friday (4/15) Tornadoes!

So the tornado sirens were going off in the middle of the night/morning.  Victor woke up to hail hitting our window so loudly, it was as if someone was trying to break in.  He asked me if we should get the boys up and bring them downstairs.  I told him no, then I said, "turn the TV on and check where the tornado is."  The tornado was not in our immediate area.  I went back to sleep.  We left the boys in their room upstairs.  This is the tree that is blocking the road that leads out of our neighborhood.  Maybe I should have opted to move the boys downstairs.

This is the tree that was blocking the road by William's school:

Wednesday - Trying Something New

This is a new way to get babies to sleep.  Take the stroller and lean it back then roll back and forth and back and forth and back and forth....

Ahhhh...there we go

Monday (4/11) Where is Sly?

A girlfriend who has only been to the new house once, came over to bring me a piece of jewelry I had ordered from her.  She went next door instead.  William had my phone turned to silent, so when she called, I did not answer.  She left the bracelet in the mail box just as I had requested, but it was not our mailbox.  Our neighbors were really confused, until Victor came over to retrieve it.

Do you see anything on the table that does not belong?

Clean laundry, fresh from the dryer is the best place to sleep!

Sunday Snakes in the Water

Cleaned out the "water feature"

When we first moved in, I did not really care that the boys were throwing rocks in this pond - until it became clogged and the fountain would no longer work.  Victor and I went out and emptied out all of the water and took out the rocks.  When I started pulling out rocks, wouldn't you know it?  A snake slid out from underneath the rock I was holding and slithered into a crevice.  Did I say snake? Yes, I said SNAKE - right next to my hand.
I am sure you have heard me yell at my kids or at a sporting event, but have you ever heard me scream???  It is a whole other level of loud and alarming.

Everyone heard me scream today.

Before the snake incident we skipped church and went to Walmart and Cracker Barrel instead.

How come William will sit in the cart for Victor and not for me?  I wish he would, it was so nice not to have to chase him around!

Raspberry lemonade..not my cup of tea, but the boys love it.

I used to be able to win at this game.  Now, I always leave two pegs instead of one.

Saturday Opening Ceremonies

Friday (4/8)

Happy Birthday Luke!

This picture is not current, but it is better than the one I took.

Thursday

We were at Robbie's batting practice.  I only had Jonah to watch.  He could not leave with any strangers without walking past me.  He was playing with kids I knew were good and well mannered.  SOOO, I don't pay much attention to what was going on and start talking to other moms.  Big Mistake!

Jonah and his friends started a pick up baseball game with a real bat.  This little boy was behind Jonah when he swung his bat.  NOT GOOD!!

When something like this happens, there are already NO WORDS that can express how you feel.  There are no words to say to the parents or the child.  It is a bad situation.

HOWEVER

My lack of words and total shock of the situation was heightened because three years previously, William (2 at the time) was at the ball fields while Robbie was playing, and threw a baseball and hit this little boy's grandmother in the face!

Yes, I am telling you that two of my children have injured two people from the SAME FAMILY!!  Caused them serious pain!

Fortunately, their family is very understanding.  The grandmother did tease me later saying that we had it out for their family.

Wednesday

Made lunch for CBS and shared my secret to perfect alfredo sauce:

Tuesday

My phone rang at 4:22 AM!  I, of course, answered, thinking it was an emergency.  I figured it was my sister-in-law.  It was a male's voice.  I, in my sleeping stupor, think it is my brother and that I have overslept and should be out the door taking the kids to school.  Turns out it was a total stranger.  He just wanted to know what I was doing?!?  What do you think I am doing?  You obviously have the wrong number!!  But I have your number now buddy!

Monday

Robbie went to the ortho to get his new retainer.  It was defective.  Now he has braces on his front four teeth.

Sunday

This is the bucket that hangs on our front door.

This is the bird's nest inside the bucket that hangs on our front door.  Complete with baby birds inside.

Wasps in the mailbox, birds in the door bucket.

Saturday

Five games in one day..enough said

Friday April 1st!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONAH!!

Thursday

I kept a friends twins so that she could enjoy a day at the spa for her birthday.  I took them to the Tubes at Rock Creek.  I can't remember if they have ever been there before, but they loved it!

They have this big aquarium that we had to stop and look at.

Wednesday

I had to text our friend who is very handy and if he doesn't know how to do something, he finds me a link so that I can read up on it.  Thanks Jeff!

This was the question of the day - How do you get GUM OUT OF THE DRYER?

The answer is to use Shout.  Spray everywhere with Shout and let sit.  It wipes right off.  However, my dryer is still blue.

Tuesday

Funny story - William was crying and upset.  I told him that he could sleep with Jonah if he wanted to.  Jonah told William that there were certain rules to sleeping in his bed.  They are as follows:

1. No farting
2. No burping
3. No stinking up the place.

I also decorated for Easter a bit.  Victor hung the picture in the dining room for me.
