Thurs 6/2 Graduation Dance

Robbie's 11th birthday.

Robbie had his graduation dance.

It was insanely hot.  The air conditioning was broken.  We all were sweating to death.  Some of the kids were feeling sick.

Before we went home, we had to stop for a cool picture.

and a fun night picture.

Wed 6/1 Twins

Boys with ice cream cones for being good and having to go through allergy testing.

Tues 5/31 Allergy Testing

I checked out for Memorial Day weekend.  Victor was sick and we stayed close to home.  We did manage to get out Sunday:

At JCP trying to find a dress shirt and tie for Robbie.  Well, that is what some of us were doing.  Others were amusing themselves by messing with foot measure.  This seemed harmless to me, so I just watched.

Today, (Tues) I took both Jonah and William to the Asthma and Allergy Clinic at Children's.  I have a husband who loves me and after I begged him, met me there to help.  This is the only picture I have:

When it came time for the actual allergy testing, the boys were in different rooms.  I had Jonah and Victor had William.  Little did I know that I would have the short end of the stick.  I really thought William would freak out.

I WAS WRONG.

Jonah cried some when they were 'scratching' his skin, but as soon as they left, he started screaming.  It was unbearable.  I could not figure out why he was crying and screaming when 'the worst was over'?  He said it burned.  I was holding his hands to keep him from scratching.  His back was steadily swelling up into huge welps across the bottom of his back.  Jonah was so loud the nurse came in to see what was going on.  I asked her why it was burning?  She said it probably didn't burn, but the placebo to make it itch was very intense.  Jonah was still screaming, so the doctor came in.  He looked and Jonah and decided everything was fine and walked out.  Then came Victor.  He left William alone in the room to check on Jonah.

What was funny:  when William came back he told Jonah, "I could hear you all the way down the hall crying."

Jonah is allergic to all grasses.  William was not allergic to anything.

Rough day...really draining day.

Friday 5/27 Water Day

William had Water Park Day at school.  I confess, I had very low expectations for this day.  I thought it would be sprinklers and such.  Basically, I thought it would be lame.  Boy was I wrong!  This is what I saw when I pulled up to the school.

Let the fun begin!

Here is where we started.

They did not enforce any rules that you would normally hear, like: "no wrestling at the top of the slide"

or: "only slide down feet first"
 it was awesome!

There was also this long blow up tunnel that was a slip and slide:

William's teacher even raced the kids!

I should mention that it was not warm water.  It was not super warm that day period.

Here are William's very purple lips because he was so cold.  I did not have the heart to make him stop and change.  This was a one day, once in a Pre-K lifetime thing after all.

For lunch the school grilled out hot dogs.

BEST DAY EVER!!

Thursday 5/26 Mykala/Kick Ball

Mykala's graduation:

Then I picked up William

and headed to meet Robbie for lunch.  William  was on the playground with the 5th graders at recess.
Then  - on to the main event
THE FIFTH GRADERS VS TEACHERS IN KICKBALL!!

Robbie took this game very seriously!  It was also Field Day at school and this is what he had painted on his arms:

SWAT stands for Students Will Annihilate Teachers

Jonah had his face painted in snakes:

It was very difficult to keep up with William.  The only time he stood still and did not run off to the bathroom, get a Popsicle or play was:
He was between two teachers that had both had Robbie in their class.

On to the game:

Show me your game face!

Working out a strategy and line up.

Robbie at the plate
Robbie is on second base!  By the way Mr. Foreman kicked the ball so far it almost hit my car!!  Yes, that is my car in the picture.  Not the best place to park it.  Now you tell me.
Robbie was very intense about this game and was very upset when the teachers won!

Wednesday 5/25 Jay's Graduation

Jay's graduation:

It was a loooong ceremony with four graduates speaking along with the superintendent.  We started to amuse ourselves as you can see.

After the ceremony was over, a fight broke out on the steps in front of the arena.  There were people flocking over to see what was going on when a single shot rang out.  We were close and ran the boys away from the gunshot.  How ridiculous is it that graduation ended in fighting, a gunshot and a report on the news?

The boys were scared.  I talked with Robbie a lot that night about how Victor and I do everything we can to protect them, but once we are outside the house, we cannot always control the situation.

Tuesday 5/24 Snakes in the Driveway

Turns out, I ran over a snake that was in the driveway:

Mon 5/23 Sweet Caroline

Taking care of Caroline

I took a shower while she took a nap.  Silvester made sure she was OK.

Sun 5/22 Blue Tongue

We went to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Here is William showing us his blue tongue.
