I checked out for Memorial Day weekend. Victor was sick and we stayed close to home. We did manage to get out Sunday:
At JCP trying to find a dress shirt and tie for Robbie. Well, that is what
some of us were doing. Others were amusing themselves by messing with foot measure. This seemed harmless to me, so I just watched.
Today, (Tues) I took both Jonah and William to the Asthma and Allergy Clinic at Children's. I have a husband who loves me and after I begged him, met me there to help. This is the only picture I have:
When it came time for the actual allergy testing, the boys were in different rooms. I had Jonah and Victor had William. Little did I know that I would have the short end of the stick. I really thought William would freak out.
I WAS WRONG.
Jonah cried some when they were 'scratching' his skin, but as soon as they left, he started screaming. It was unbearable. I could not figure out why he was crying and screaming when 'the worst was over'? He said it burned. I was holding his hands to keep him from scratching. His back was steadily swelling up into huge welps across the bottom of his back. Jonah was so loud the nurse came in to see what was going on. I asked her why it was burning? She said it probably didn't burn, but the placebo to make it itch was very intense. Jonah was still screaming, so the doctor came in. He looked and Jonah and decided everything was fine and walked out. Then came Victor. He left William alone in the room to check on Jonah.
What was funny: when William came back he told Jonah, "I could hear you all the way down the hall crying."
Jonah is allergic to all grasses. William was not allergic to anything.
Rough day...really draining day.
